Red Spruce are very important trees in the northeast. The wood is light, soft, and tinted with red. It is often used for pulpwood and Christmas tree use. The needles are sharply pointed, have four sides, and are green in color. Red Spruce has the ability to adapt too many soil conditions, from coarse rocky soil to fine sandy soil.
